Summit 2019: 23 projects, 22 graduates and a Science Slam

At the annual Software Campus Summit on the 14th and 15th of November 2019 participants, partners and sponsors of the program got to meet. 32 IT research projects which were presented in a poster and demo session. These projects were realized during the cooperation of the participants and their partners and they were furthermore sponsored with up to 100.000€ by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research. For the first time some of the participants presented their research within the format of a Science Slam: they had 5 minutes to present their topic in a popular scientific way. On the main day of the summit the four best Slammers were presenting their topics again to fight for the prices provided by the partner Huawei.

Thanks to the support of Huawei it was possible for us to make the Summit take place in a larger setting for the first time – that resulted in having 110 visitors on the main day. Representatives of the Federal Ministry of Education and Research as well as representatives of the project management agency DLR exchanged experiences and know-how with the participants of the program. In addition to that the 22 successful graduates were dismissed and awarded with their certificates by Prof. Max Mühlhäuser (TU Darmstadt) and Prof. Antonio Krüger (DFKI). At their info-points the industry partners provided information about career options.
