From 22 to 25 September 2026, TU Dresden will become the centre of the German-speaking computer science community. The Informatik Festival – the annual conference of the German Informatics Society (GI) – will focus this year on the theme of ‘Digital Resilience’ and will explore how digital infrastructures, applications and organisations can be made more resilient.
Focus on digital resilience: What awaits participants?
The conference will explore a wide range of topics: from resilient architectures and trustworthy AI, through adaptive human-machine interaction, to sustainable digitalisation and robust development processes. The focus is not solely on technological approaches – organisational and societal dimensions of digital adaptability are also on the agenda.
In addition to the main academic programme, the festival format features a variety of evening events. A comprehensive range of workshops rounds off the programme. Participants can submit academic papers and, if accepted, have them published in the digital conference proceedings – a concrete step towards advancing their own academic careers.
An event of significance
The Informatik Festival has been a fixture in the industry since 1971 and brings together the GI community, which numbers more than 17,000 members. In 2026, the conference will take place for the 56th time – and for the fourth time in a festival format. In 2025, the event attracted around 1,000 participants, including researchers, young professionals and students, as well as representatives from the worlds of research and academia.
