MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group
Digitalization has long since ceased to affect only companies, but has also had an impact on everyday life. It is precisely here that the MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group, Europe’s leading retailer of consumer electronics, services and other retail products, is taking up in order to make the simultaneously fascinating yet complex world of digitization tangible, especially for consumers and customers. In addition to developing solution-oriented products and services, the company wants to accompany its customers as a partner and navigator and has established itself as the market leader for electrical retailing throughout Germany.
By digitizing the stores, online shops and mobile apps, the company is attempting to generate a convenient all-round experience for the customer, in which the various touchpoints overlap seamlessly. Furthermore, the Services and Solutions division will be expanded to ensure a long-term customer experience. In addition, there is the innovative design and development of business models through the establishment of the company’s own Accelerator RetailTechHub. The main aim here is to give start-ups in a 3-month program consisting of workshops with important mentors as well as financial support close access to the mass market and, as a result, the chance to realize their own innovative ideas as founders.
Through trainee programs in the Accounting & Controlling areas, the company also provides financial support for graduates and facilitates training to promote personal responsibility and personal and professional development. In the future, the company will also offer a dual studies in computer science, digital business and user experience design.
The MediaMarktSaturn Retail Group, headquartered in Ingolstadt, Germany, is divided into two independent companies that operate independently in the market and, above all, compete with each other: Media Markt and Saturn as sales partners. In addition, there are various own brands such as ISY. As a result of the independence and competition of the respective companies, MediaMarktSaturn generated around 21 billion euros in the 2017/2018 financial year with around 62,000 employees in 14 countries and 1022 stores.
