Become an Entreprenerd

The Software Campus is looking for master’s and Ph.D. students of computer science from Germany and abroad with outstanding academic achievements and innovative entrepreneurial spirit. Students and Ph.D. students from related disciplines can also participate. However, the master’s thesis or doctorate must be supervised by one of the Software Campus partner universities.

At a glance:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to take on managerial tasks
  • Master’s degree or doctorate in computer science or a subject related to computer science
  • own innovative IT project idea or an interest in our partners’ IT ideas
  • Good German language skills, German citizenship is not necessary

Upcoming application period for PhD and master’s students  2020:

10th February – 20th March 2020: Application period
22nd – 24th April 2020: Selection symposium in Berlin via video conference
June 2020: Admission to the Software Campus
July 2020: Kick-off event in Berlin
August/September 2020: Application for subsidies
January 2021: Start of project, trainings and mentoring

Your IT idea should look like this

Your IT idea must address an innovative topic and contain the following elements:

  • Key message (max. 500 characters)
  • Objective, research questions and novelty of the project (max. 4000 characters)
  • Integration into the Software Campus (max. 1000 characters)
  • Implementation approach / methodology and expected final results (max. 2,500 characters)
  • Project schedule (simple Gantt chart)
  • Categories
  • Keywords

These documents must be submitted

  • Highlights of the application (highlighting the most important aspects of the application at the applicant’s discretion)
  • Doctoral or master’s thesis topic (if already available)
  • Letter of motivation (max. 300 words)
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular form
  • Overview of academic achievements
  • Letter of recommendation from at least one professor
  • Other certificates (optional)
  • Further letters of recommendation (optional)
  • Certificate of matriculation or employment certificate from an academic institution (optional)
  • Proof of existing scholarships (optional)
  • Proof of academic awards and publications (optional)
  • Academic publications (optional)
