Become an Entreprenerd

The Software Campus is looking for master’s and Ph.D. students of computer science and related disciplines from Germany and abroad. However, the master’s thesis or doctorate must be supervised by one of the Software Campus partner universities.

What you bring along:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to take on managerial tasks
  • Master’s degree or doctorate in computer science or a subject related to computer science
  • outstanding academic achievements
  • own innovative project idea or an interest in our partners’ ideas
  • German language skills are not necessary

What you get:

  • 6 trainings (methodological, social & personal competence and leadership trainings)
  • Personal support from a mentor from your industry partner
  • Network building
  • Management of your own research project with up to 100,000 € funding from the BMBF (click here for an overview of projects implemented so far)

Dates

The dates for the 2023 application phase will be published soon.

What your project idea should contain:

  • Key message (max. 500 characters)
  • Objective, research questions and novelty of the project (max. 4000 characters)
  • Integration into the Software Campus (max. 1000 characters)
  • Implementation approach / methodology and expected final results (max. 2,500 characters)
  • Project schedule (simple Gantt chart)
  • Categories
  • Keywords

These documents must be submitted:

  • Highlights of the application (highlighting the most important aspects of the application at your discretion)
  • Doctoral or master’s thesis topic (if already available)
  • Letter of motivation (max. 300 words)
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular form
  • Overview of academic achievements
  • Letter of recommendation from at least one professor
  • Other certificates (optional)
  • Further letters of recommendation (optional)
  • Certificate of matriculation or employment certificate from an academic institution (optional)
  • Proof of existing scholarships (optional)
  • Proof of academic awards and publications (optional)
  • Academic publications (optional)
