Become an Entreprenerd

The Software Campus is looking for PhD students of computer science and related disciplines from Germany and abroad. Ideally, the dissertation will be supervised by one of the partner universities of the Software Campus. However, doctoral students from other universities can also apply.

What you bring along:

  • Entrepreneurial spirit and a desire to take on managerial tasks
  • doctorate in computer science or a subject related to computer science
  • outstanding academic achievements
  • own innovative project idea or an interest in our partners’ ideas
  • German language skills are not necessary

March 14 & 15: Information events for application phase (online)
March 14 – April 23: Application phase
May 24 – 26: Selection days (online)
June: Academic review
July: Match Making
End of August: Kickoff (in Berlin)
Starting January 2024: Project, trainings and mentoring

What your project idea should contain:

  • Key message (max. 500 characters)
  • Objective, research questions and novelty of the project (max. 4000 characters)
  • Integration into the Software Campus (max. 1000 characters)
  • Implementation approach / methodology and expected final results (max. 2,500 characters)
  • Project schedule (simple Gantt chart)
  • Categories
  • Keywords

Here you can find an overview of the research topics of the industry partners 2023. A detailed description of the topics can be found on the Software Campus application platform.

These documents must be submitted:

  • Highlights of the application (highlighting the most important aspects of the application at your discretion)
  • Doctoral thesis topic (if already available)
  • Letter of motivation (max. 300 words)
  • Curriculum vitae in tabular form
  • Overview of academic achievements
  • Letter of recommendation from at least one professor
  • Other certificates (optional)
  • Further letters of recommendation (optional)
  • Certificate of matriculation or employment certificate from an academic institution (optional)
  • Proof of existing scholarships (optional)
  • Proof of academic awards and publications (optional)
  • Academic publications (optional)
