Communities of Practice continue to grow with the onboarding of the new cohort

Around 100 participants and graduates of the Software Campus are already engaged in the nine Communities of Practice. They have continued to grow with the onboarding of the 41 doctoral students from the 2024 cohort, who are currently starting their projects.

The onboarding event was carried out for the first time using the virtual event platform Gather. Visitors move through the virtual event environment with their self-created avatars: from the networking hall to the auditorium to the poster stands. When an avatar enters certain areas or approaches other avatars, the camera and microphone activate, enabling direct interaction between participants.

Twenty-one participants from the most-recent cohort presented their microproject plans across two sessions. Participants from previous cohorts and graduates also took part, networking with representatives from our industry partners Celonis and DATEV.

Different online events will take place in each community over the next few months. For developing the big CoP workshop onsite at the Summit in December, we have the support of our newly assigned ambassadors for each CoP.
